The tool that takes the guesswork out of creating outfits!
Making a Travel Clothesline
A travel clothesline is very quick, easy, and inexpensive to make. It will hold wet clothing items without clothespins, takes up little space in your suitcase, and works in a variety of places
MATERIALS NEEDED: 6 1/3 yards of 1/4" sport elastic (off-white in color)
(Can be purchased at Hancock Fabrics by the yard, not prepackaged.)
1. Cut elastic into two pieces:
a. piece 1 is 4 yards long
b. piece 2 is 2 yards + 12" long (the remaining length)
2. Fold the shorter piece (piece 2) down 12" so that you have a fold at the top.
3. Fold the longer piece in half. Match up the folds and knot all pieces together about 3-4" down from folds.
4. Loop folds around door knob or something stationary and begin braiding the three long strands of elastic.
5. When you are about 8-12" from the bottom of the strands, knot all ends together.
One end of clothesline will have a loop and the other will be long enough to tie around a fixed object. Loop or tie ends around shower head, rod, doorknob, hook, chair back, etc. You may have to get creative here! Open braid slightly to allow room to slip in corner of garment.
